This is a movie trailer for a short film on Type 1 Diabetes. The title comes straight from medical record jargon (Diagnosis: Type 1 Diabetes). It is a combination of letters (sometimes with the colon) that violates numerous documents, forms, and reports that litter my home.

What this film isn’t, is a promotional ad; it isn’t a documentary, either. It is a narrative film that provides a glimpse into a 24-hr period of a family’s life as they try not to let T1D define their lives.

It’s a strange technique, using narrative film to educate, but I think it works. Others did too. The film was an official selection at over ten film festivals across North America during the last year. It has been highly praised for its narrative and photographic techniques, and it was awarded the Broader Vision award at the Kidz Filmz Festival in NJ.
